Hello and welcome
When I took on the job of being a Director for Excellence in Childcare, I knew that I would be part of an organisation that would change the face of childcare in Crewe forever.
As a social enterprise, unlike many of our competitors, profit is not our reason for being – delivering a first class childcare service is what drives us. In our care, you can have the absolute confidence that we will really put your child first, every hour, every day. Happy, confident, enthusiastic children and relaxed, assured parents are our performance benchmarks – not pounds and pence.
Please feel free to contact us to arrange an informal visit to any of the nurseries to see for yourself how wonderful our facilities are and take the time to talk to our staff.
Hoping to see you soon.

Diary Notes
Through the eyes of Katy (4 months old)
When Daddy drops me off at nursery in the morning, Anna, the lovely lady who looks after me, welcomes me with a smile and gives me a big cuddle and then gets me ready to eat my breakfast. After I have had enough porridge or rusk in milk, it’s time to play – I have one particular yellow rattle that I absolutely love as it has lots and lots of little coloured balls in it! At nursery, I’m the boss – I choose the toys and things to do that interest me, and I have lots of fun. Most days after I’ve been outside for some fresh air I am ready for a nappy change and then a little snooze. When I wake up, I like to play some more whilst my own personal chef makes my lunch just how I like it. The afternoon brings more play time, nappy changes and of course another little sleep. Mum comes after work to pick me up. One last hug from Anna for the day and off I go. I love going to nursery, although I do get a little tired from all the fun and exciting things. Mummy always sends me with extra clothes as I like to get really messy! Mummy and Daddy always know what I have been up to because I have my own special diary with photographs and notes about what I’ve been doing throughout the day….
Through the eyes of Joshua – 2 years old
I love arriving at nursery in the mornings as its time for breakfast. I have Wheetbix with warm milk and a banana. After that Suzanne always lets me play with the toy trains – Thomas the Tank is best, through I quite like James too. I have many friends at nursery, but my best friend is Jack and he is two and half. We love singing time – especially when Suzanne puts on a show with the puppets – that really makes us laugh. When it’s cold, we wrap up warm in out coats, hats and gloves to play outside. There are bikes and cars to ride on and a den to play in.
Some of my friends have a nap bit I’m not usually tired at all. By lunchtime, I’m really hungry for my pasta and then it’s time for Grandpa to pick me up. Can’t wait until tomorrow – Jack and I are going to play in the sand pit! | |

I really enjoy nursery, although Mummy says that as I am a big girl I will going to school soon. Because I can recognise my own name, when I arrive at nursery I have to sign in by picking up my name and picture and putting it on the big board. In the mornings I enjoy playing with Bethany and Thomas in the ‘home corner’ – although we sometimes argue over who can do the ironing and the cooking for the dollies. Song time is fun – my favourite is the ‘Wheels on the Bus’. We big children can have our snack time whenever we are hungry in the morning and I usually choose to have an apple or banana. When we go outside, we play a fabulous game with a parachute where we have to all run under – it makes me laugh. When we come in we can play a bit more or choose a book to read. After that it’s tidy time, then we have the special ‘Bye Bye’ song that we sing and then Mum comes to pick me up. I’m going to miss nursery when I go to school, but lots of my friends are coming too!
